Updated October 21, 2026 2 min read By the Triiptry team in Hurghada
Short answerMost visitors stop at Orange Bay and the safari. The hidden gems are a little further out: sea turtles at Abu Dabab, a slow day on Mahmya or Ozirea, Sabina Reef, the stars over the desert, the Felfela viewpoint, and the Nile at sunrise in Luxor. Here are 12, all bookable with real prices.

Hurghada’s big trips are popular for good reason. But if you have a few days, these are the places and moments most tourists miss, picked by our local team.

1. Sea turtles at Abu Dabab, Marsa Alam

A bay where sea turtles graze on seagrass, and dugongs appear if you are lucky. Snorkel with a guide, then lunch at the beach restaurant. Abu Dabab, €110.

2. Sabina Reef from Mahmya

Mahmya’s option 3 adds boat snorkelling at Sabina Reef to a beach-club day and buffet lunch. Mahmya, €95.

3. Ozirea Island, the full day

An oriental breakfast on board, then 4 hours on Ozirea with lunch on the island and the pool. Few crowds, lots of time. Ozirea, €60.

4. White Island sandbar

A strip of sand in the middle of the sea, reached on a private speedboat with Dolphin House. White Island, from €180 per boat.

5. The desert sky at night

Most people leave the desert at sunset. Stay for a BBQ dinner, a folklore show and telescopes with a guide. Stargazing, €40.

6. Horses on the beach

Two hours on horseback along the Red Sea or across the dunes. Horse riding, €35.

7. The Felfela viewpoint

Hurghada’s best panorama of the coast and islands, part of our city tour with El Mina Mosque, the New Marina, a perfume oil factory and the bazaar, €30.

8. A perfume oil factory

A guided look at how Egyptian flower essences and oils are made, with a chance to try them. Also on the city tour.

9. Coral without getting wet

The Nefertari boat takes you 4 metres down in a submarine to see the reef. Nefertari, €110. Or try the semi-submarine for €20.

10. Sunrise over the Valley of the Kings

A hot air balloon over Luxor’s West Bank at dawn, 45-60 minutes in the air. Balloon, €230.

11. The Grand Egyptian Museum

Choose the new museum on your Cairo day: €85 by bus or €95 by minibus, with the pyramids and lunch. Cairo from Hurghada

12. Banana Island on the Nile

An optional stop on our Luxor day trip after Karnak and the Valley of the Kings.
